Arrival and departure area

The Terminal includes a cargo train arrival and departure area providing fast and reliable handling services. The marshalling yard is composed by seven 750m-long tracks for the handling of block trains. The railway infrastructure interconnects the terminal area to the internal railway station with effective intermodal connections on a daily basis between the terminal and the national railway network.

Cargo Railway Station

Our logistics facility is the only one of its kind in Italy boasting an internal private cargo rail station named “Nola Interporto” Station, managed by RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana) and regularly included in the PIR (Prospetto Informativo della Rete).

The station has a capacity to handle up to 30 trains per day and is directly connected to the intermodal terminal due to 13 electrified main tracks, each one of 1km length. The track network enables European standard 750 metres block trains to enter into the terminal in only 20 min. from their arrival into the station, speeding up the handling of ILU (International Loading Unit) with the consequent rapid availability of the transported goods.

The station premises host a high technology railway traffic control room managed by RFI specialized personnel and also the offices of the Rail operator Company Interporto Servizi Cargo (ISC).
